Futures Ticker Symbols
The industry code for a particular futures contract employs abbreviations for both the contract and its expiration. Typically, the first two
letters represent the contract, the next letter represents the contract expiration month, and a final number respresents the expiration year.
(The number is the last digit of the year.) For example, the September 2008 Canadian dollar futures contract is represented as CDU8, the December
contract as CDZ8, and the March contract of the following year as CDH9. Symbols and months are listed below for the more popular contracts. Note that contract delivery months
and ticker symbols are set by the respective futures exchange and may change. For current values and for contracts not listed below, please check with the exchange.
